For those not engaged in the legal profession, being involved in legal controversy is rarely, if ever, a welcomed experience. My goal is for you to have the very best mediation experience possible, and I will make every effort to assist you in settling your case in an amicable, courteous manner.
Since 1989, I have mediated over 4,000 cases, principally in the areas of personal injury, wrongful death, products liability and other torts; employment, discrimination and civil rights; eminent domain; construction; hurricane, fire, and other first-party claims; contracts; real estate; probate; business disputes. A high percentage of these cases settled at mediation; others settled shortly thereafter, partly as a result of the progress made at mediation.
My practice is limited to the mediation of civil cases in the Circuit Court system of Florida or in Federal court. Also, I do pre-suit mediations of cases that, if suit were filed, would be filed either in Circuit Court or in Federal Court. Most mediations are done in my office at 817 N. Palafox Street, Pensacola, Florida 32501-3113; but, frequently, I do mediations at other locations selected by the mediation participants. When I travel by motor vehicle from Pensacola to nearby cities or towns, I typically do those mediations at the offices of one of the attorneys participating in the mediation. By special arrangement, I am available to mediate anywhere within the State of Florida. I have done mediations in cities such as Jacksonville, Florida, and Orlando, Florida. Usually, I will travel by commercial airliner to and from those locations.
We built our office building in 1980, and believe it to be an attractive, comfortable setting in which to conduct mediations. There are several large conference rooms, plus copy machine and fax services, internet access, and telephone conferencing capability. I have a full-time receptionist available to assist you with these things during the mediation. With respect to mediations that are in session during the lunch hour, I provide a complimentary lunch, which is freshly-prepared by a local deli and brought to your mediation room. In addition, I provide snacks of various kinds and a wide variety of beverages, including soft drinks, coffee, and spring water.
Mediation is an extremely cost-effective way to resolve civil disputes. My mediation charges are competitive and will be detailed in an engagement letter sent well in advance to each participating attorney/party involved in the proposed mediation. In this way, we are able to resolve any questions or concerns about the charges or how they are computed, prior to your incurring any financial obligation for the mediation.
